Washington County Schools is one of 10 districts across the state that has an opportunity to participate in a pilot program regarding teacher compensation models. This program is designed to provide additional compensation to teachers who have a positive impact on student achievement and would like to extend the reach of that impact by serving in a leadership role while continuing to teach in the classroom.
Our program is designed to strengthen the skills of the teachers through staff development and coaching training on instructional best practices. Our teachers will in turn, become specialists in a given area. They will then become an integral part of leading that initiative within their respective schools by coaching their colleagues and providing support.
We are looking for teacher leaders in areas such as PBIS, Model Classroom Strategies, Grade level/department chairs, SIT chairs, SchoolNet, Digital Teaching and Learning, and other best instructional practices. If you are interested in becoming a part of this pilot program apply today. Applications are due June 16, 2017, so don’t delay. You don’t want to miss this!
